On December 1st, the current year a cultural event dedicated to World AIDS Days was marked at the State Philharmonia named after Akasharif Juraev. The event was attended by The Minister of the Health and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan Nasim Olimzoda, US Charge’d Affaires Kevin Covert, the Head of the Representative Office of the WHO in Tajikistan Igor Pokanevich and other non-governmental organizations.
Nasim Olimzoda, the Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan welcomed the participants and noted that today the million people wear the red ribbons as a symbol for the solidarity of people living with HIV/AIDS.
A “Best item” contest on the theme of fight and prevention of HIV/AIDS was also announced among the press people and the winners were awarded the memorial gifts.
The event ended with the concerts performed by the singers and brass bands of the Ministry of Culture of the country, such as Kobiljon Zaripov, Alisher Kanoatzoda, Mohpari Orifov and orchestra bands of the State Philharmonia named after Akasharif Juraev.
